Accepting these terms
These terms cover your use of the Manchester Concrete Works website and any estimate, quote or work you request through it. By using the site, calling us or sending us the contact form, you agree to these terms, so please read them before you reach out.
If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the site. You can still ask us a question first on our contact page, and we'll answer it before you decide anything.
What we do and what this site is for
Manchester Concrete Works is a concrete contractor in Manchester, NH. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, slabs, footings, foundations and other concrete work for homes and businesses in Manchester and the cities around it. You can read more about our crew and how we work on our about page.
The site gives general information about concrete work so you know what a job usually involves. It isn't a promise that any particular method, material or result fits your property, because we only know that once we've seen the site, the soil and where the water runs.
Estimates and pricing
Estimates are free and come after we've looked at your property in person. There's no pressure to book. An estimate is based on what we can see that day, such as the size of the area, the condition of the ground, access for trucks and the finish you choose.
Some things only show up once the old concrete is out or the ground is open, like soft or wet subgrade, which is the soil the slab sits on, buried debris, roots or ledge. If something like that changes the work, we'll stop, explain it and agree the change with you in writing before we go on.
Prices on an estimate hold for the period written on it. After that, material and fuel costs can move, so we may need to update the figure before we schedule your job.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We give you a planned start date when you book, but concrete depends on the weather. We won't pour in heavy rain, freezing conditions or heat that would weaken the surface, so we may move your date if the forecast turns, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.
After the pour, the slab needs time to cure, which is the wait while concrete gains its strength before it can take foot traffic or vehicles. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and drive on, and damage from using it sooner isn't covered.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us at (603) 591-9259 as early as you can. If we've already ordered materials or set forms for your job, you may owe for those costs, and your written contract will say how that's handled.
Payment terms
Payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are set out in your written contract or invoice. Those terms control over anything on this website.
If a payment is late, we may pause the work until it's settled. Unpaid balances may also carry the late charges and collection costs the contract allows and New Hampshire law permits.
Your part of the job
You're responsible for telling us about anything we can't see, such as underground lines, irrigation, septic parts, drainage pipes or property line questions. Before any digging, the underground utilities should be marked, and we'll work around those marks.
Please keep people, pets and vehicles off fresh concrete and out of the work area until we say it's ready, because marks and damage in the first days usually can't be fixed without redoing the surface.
Warranties and what concrete does naturally
Any guarantee on your work is the one written into your contract, and it applies only as written there. Nothing on this website creates a separate warranty, and to the extent the law allows, we disclaim any implied warranty not stated in your contract.
Concrete shrinks as it dries, so some fine hairline cracking is normal. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line, so cracks follow those lines instead of wandering. Normal hairline cracks, small color differences between pours and surface wear from salt, plowing or chemicals aren't defects.
A guarantee doesn't cover damage from things outside our control, such as frost heave from water you've redirected, tree roots, heavy equipment we weren't told about, or changes another contractor makes to the slab or the ground around it.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Manchester Concrete Works isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway while concrete cures, or for delays caused by weather, supply shortages or other events outside our control.
Where we are found liable, our total responsibility for a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. These limits don't reduce any right you have that the law says can't be waived, and they don't excuse our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Using this website
The words, photos and layout on this site belong to Manchester Concrete Works, and you may not copy them for commercial use without our permission. Links to other websites are there for convenience, and we aren't responsible for what those sites say or do.
We try to keep the site accurate, but information can change and may contain mistakes, so please confirm anything that affects your decision with us directly.
Settling disagreements
If you're unhappy with any part of the work, call us first, because most problems are easier to fix when we come out and look at them together. We'll try in good faith to settle it directly with you.
If we can't agree, either side may take the matter to a court with authority over Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, unless your written contract names another way to resolve it.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law. For jobs outside New Hampshire, any local rules that must apply to the work still apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this site applies from the day it's posted. The terms in place when you signed your contract still govern that job.
If you have a question about these terms, reach us through our contact page or start from our home page. We respond within 1 business day.
