A deck for a new pool
When the pool is in and the yard is still torn up, we build the deck around it, setting the slope and the edge so water runs off instead of back toward the house.
Slick spots, cracks or water pooling by the pool? We build a deck that drains away and gives your feet something to grip.

Manchester Concrete Works builds concrete pool decks in Manchester, NH and the cities around it, pouring a slab that gives wet, bare feet some grip and sends water away from your house and out of the pool.
Most calls start with an old deck that's cracked, heaved or slick, or a new pool with bare dirt around it. The price moves mostly with the size and shape of the deck, whether an old slab has to be broken out and hauled away, how much soft soil we dig out for the base, and the finish you pick, because a plain finish takes less work than a decorative one.
The schedule turns on the weather, any permit review and the cure time before the deck can take foot traffic. We work across southern New Hampshire and into Methuen, MA, and the estimate is where you get your own number, with what it covers written down.
I come out to look at every deck myself, and I work alongside our crew on the build, so the person who explained your options is there when the concrete goes down.
I want you to understand what you're buying before you sign anything, so I'll stop and check that you followed. If something in your yard changes the plan, you'll hear it from me first.
We've been in business since 2023, and our work is satisfaction guaranteed. I started this company to run jobs the way I learned them, with the reason behind every step.
Around a pool, grip under wet feet comes first, so before we talk color I walk you through how each finish feels and where the water will run off. A broom finish, light ridges dragged across the fresh concrete so feet have something to catch on, is the plain choice, and we can lay the others out side by side. Then we set the slope so water heads away from your house and the pool instead of sitting in a low spot.
The part you can't see on day one is the part I care about most. We dig out the soft dirt and pack a solid subgrade, the ground the slab sits on, because a deck raked level over loose soil settles right along with it. When a budget gets tight, people want to trim the base and keep the fancy finish. I'd do it the other way around, since you can redo a surface later but a sinking base means tearing the deck out. We pour in the cooler part of the day so the top doesn't dry too fast and turn weak and dusty, cut control joints, shallow grooves that give the slab a place to crack, on time, and let it cure, the wait while it hardens, before anyone walks on it.
If your deck meets the back door or a patio at a different height, we can build concrete steps and plan them with the deck so the slopes line up. And if you're adding a pool house or a pad for the pump and filter, that's slab foundation building, with a base sized for the weight it carries.
When the pool is in and the yard is still torn up, we build the deck around it, setting the slope and the edge so water runs off instead of back toward the house.
We break out the old slab and look at what's under it, because a deck that sank usually sat on a poor base, and new concrete over the same dirt repeats the problem.
If your deck feels cramped, we can widen it for loungers or a table and plan the new section so it still drains the right way and meets the old edge cleanly.
If puddles stay on your deck or water heads toward the house, we look at the slope and any drains and rebuild the section that's sending water the wrong way.
Send the form and we'll reply within one business day to set up your free on-site estimate. I'll walk the site with you and explain what I see, and there's no pressure to book.
If you can, send a few photos of the pool area and where your gutters drain, since that tells me a lot about the slope before I even arrive.
We pick up Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 9 PM and on weekends from 7 AM to 9 PM, so you can reach us after work at (603) 591-9259.

Broom, exposed aggregate, stamped and smooth finishes, plus deck shapes and step layouts, to help you picture what could suit your yard.
Straight answers on finishes, sealing, winter pours and permits, the things people around Manchester ask before they book a pool deck.
There's no single best finish, because broom, textured, exposed aggregate, coated, overlay and decorative finishes each grip wet, bare feet differently and heat up differently in the sun. Very dark finishes can get uncomfortable to stand on in full sun. Tell us where your shade falls at the estimate, and we'll weigh grip and heat along with looks.
Every 18 to 24 months for a film sealer, or every three to five years for a penetrating one, going by one sealer maker's numbers. The trade-off is color, since penetrating sealers bring out less of it. On a new deck, industry guidance says to wait 28 days after the pour before the first coat, unless a sealer was mixed into the concrete.
Yes, concrete poured when the air drops, or is expected to drop, below 40°F while it's being protected still gains enough strength and lasts, as long as it's mixed, placed and protected properly. That's what counts as a cold-weather pour. The question to ask any crew is how they'll protect it, and we'll go over our plan for your deck.
It can, when the mix is air entrained, with tiny air bubbles that help soaked concrete ride out freeze and thaw and limit scaling from ice melt. Frost heave, the ground pushing up as it freezes, lessens when coarse fill replaces fine, frost-prone soil and water can drain. Ask any contractor whether the mix is air entrained and what goes under it.
Ask the city's Planning and Community Development Department, which handles building permit applications and will mail you one if you call 603-624-6450. Before work starts we check with that office about your job, and when a permit is needed we handle the paperwork for our part or help you file it. We're licensed and insured.
Call (603) 591-9259 with your pool's size and a rough sketch of your lot, since many Manchester outdoor permits need a scaled site plan.
